With the acquisition, we’ve extended our aluminum footprint with new product offerings, combining our cut-to-length expertise with Erickson Metals’ innovative saws and value-added capabilities. This acquisition has also allowed us to increase our service locations to spread our reach even further across the United States.

Learn more about the Erickson Metals acquisition below, including our new locations, products and services.

3 New U.S. Locations

Champagne Metals currently processes and stocks metals from coast to coast throughout North America. With the acquisition of Erickson Metals, we’ll be able to provide more comprehensive services across the U.S. in addition to our Canadian service centers.

Alongside our present state-of-the-art facilities, we’ll broaden our reach through Erickson Metals’ locations in Colorado, Minnesota and New Mexico. These new locations mean we can connect with more clients across a variety of industries.

Our New Aluminum Products and Services

Erickson Metals is known for its high-quality aluminum capabilities, and we’re proud to be able to offer our valued customers an expanded array of new products and services through the acquisition. Alongside our existing offerings, you’ll be able to find the following:

Extruded Shapes

If you require extruded aluminum shapes in standard formations, including angles, beams, channels, tees and zees, we can support your needs.

  • Angles: 6061-T6 American Standard, 6063-T52 Sharp Corners
  • Beams: 6061-T6 Aluminum Association (I-beams), 6061-T6 American Standard (I-beams), 6061-T6 (H-beams and wide flange beams)
  • Channels: 6061-T6 Aluminum Association, 6061-T6 American Standard, 6063-T52 Sharp Corners
  • Tees: 6061-T6 Aluminum Association, 6063-T52 Sharp Corners
  • Zees: 6061-T6, 6063-T52 Sharp Corners

Custom Extrusions

In custom extrusion, cross-sectional profiles are created using a custom-designed die. By pushing aluminum through a premade mold of various sizes and shapes, you can create specialized components that support project functionality. All custom extrusions use standard alloys (6061 and 6063) and come with special packaging upon request.

The ordering process starts with your specifications. After you supply us with your product requirements, such as the amount and length, critical surfaces, specialized finishes, alloy and temper, and end use, we’ll provide you with our expert estimations, including die cost and lead time. With your design approval, the mill will begin the project.

Pipe and Tube

Both aluminum piping and tubing can be useful for various applications, though their purposes differ.

While pipes are typically used to convey material because they’re pressure tested, tubes are structural. These aluminum products are either extruded, meaning they’re created by hot extruding through a die, or drawn, which involves drawing through a die. The extruded options come in seamless or structural formations.

Here’s a quick overview of your treatable alloy options:

  • Non-heat treatable alloys: 3003
  • Heat treatable alloys: 2011, 2024, 6061 and 6063

Rod and Bar

Choose from cold finished and extruded bars ordered stretch stress-relieved, giving you the highest-quality selection for stability during machining and cutting. These products are available as hexagons, rectangles, rounds and squares. Various aluminum alloy options include:

  • 2011
  • 2017
  • 5086
  • 6061
  • 6063
  • 6262
  • 7075
